Individual language learning strategy
To achieve great results, it´s important to create yourself an individual language learning strategy. Next you´ll find some questions that we advise you to answer before you start learning a language. It would be best if you make a separate file for that in your computes, “My language learning strategy” for example.
Some important questions for your language learning strategy:
1) What is your language level today? Try to describe it (in a few sentences)
2) YOUR MAIN GOAL: What is your main goal for learning the language? On what level do you have to be to achieve this goal? What skills you should have to meet your expectations? Visualize that you have the language level that you dream of – with whom do you speak? what do you speak about? do you have to read more or are you focused on speaking the language? Try to set a timelimit for your MAIN GOAL that it would be reachable for you (for example 5 or 6 months, depending on your goal).
In describing your MAIN GOAL, try to be as precise as you can. If you answer these questions then you´ll see that the goal isn´t so far away as you would think. Try to answer these questions in a short paragraph.
3) To achieve that MAIN GOAL – where should your focus be? on listening? on reading? on expressing yourself?
Now, if you´ve answered these questions then you´ll know which tools to use to achieve your MAIN GOAL.
